Our History

Founded in 1966, Engineered Air has grown from a small Calgary-based company into a North American leader with a network of sales offices and manufacturing facilities across the U.S. and Canada. With a dedicated team of engineers, technicians, and industry experts, we have continuously innovated and expanded our capabilities to meet the evolving demands of the HVAC industry.

0{{current_slide_index}} 0{{total_slide_count}} Where it all Started 1966 Engineered Air was founded, launching the HE and CH Series heaters with an initial manufacturing space of 1,800ft² leased facility. The first sales office in Calgary opened. 2024 1972 0{{current_slide_index}} 0{{total_slide_count}} Starting the Growth 1972 Moved into a newly constructed manufacturing space of 25,000ft² in Calgary, with 46 factory employees and 17 office staff. Indirect fired heaters (PACK) and LM series air handlers were added to the product line. 1966 1973 0{{current_slide_index}} 0{{total_slide_count}} Acquisitions 1973 Engineered Air purchased Rooftop Engineering, introducing packaged heat-cool units, including the FW series. 1972 1978 0{{current_slide_index}} 0{{total_slide_count}} Further Options 1978 The company acquired Swirl Fin Coil Productions, opening the Heat Transfer Plant (HTP) in Calgary and manufacturing its own heat transfer coils. 1973 1979 0{{current_slide_index}} 0{{total_slide_count}} Eastern Canada Expansion 1979 Newmarket Ontario Plant was built as the Eastern Canada Manufacturing Facility making it easier to provide service across Canada. 1978 1989 0{{current_slide_index}} 0{{total_slide_count}} USA Expansion 1989 Engineered Air expanded into the U.S. market with a sales office in Kansas City and constructed a Satellite Plant in Calgary for future expansion. 1979 1991 0{{current_slide_index}} 0{{total_slide_count}} De Soto Kansas 1991 Expansion to De Soto, Kansas, with a new 30,000ft² manufacturing plant, marking a significant U.S. presence. 1989 1999 0{{current_slide_index}} 0{{total_slide_count}} Highfield Plant Expands 1999 The Highfield Plant in Calgary doubled its size to 100,000ft², demonstrating substantial growth in manufacturing capacity. 1991 2008 0{{current_slide_index}} 0{{total_slide_count}} De Soto Plant Expansion 2008 Major expansions in De Soto, including the South Plant, adding 100,000ft² of manufacturing space. 1999 2010 0{{current_slide_index}} 0{{total_slide_count}} More Acquisitions 2010 Acquisitions of Creotech Chiller and M&I Products expanded the company into modular chillers, water heaters, and cleanroom equipment. 2010 2017 0{{current_slide_index}} 0{{total_slide_count}} Corporate Head Office 2017 With the purchase of land next to the manufacturing site in Calgary a new corporate head office was constructed. 2010 2024 0{{current_slide_index}} 0{{total_slide_count}} Blackfoot Plant Opens 2024 The Blackfoot Plant opened in Calgary, centralizing sheet metal processing and featuring advanced automation. Additional space bought cleanroom manufacturing to Canada as well as in the US. 2017 2025 0{{current_slide_index}} 0{{total_slide_count}} Today 2025 As of 2025, total manufacturing space is greater than 1,100,000ft², there are manufacturing locations in Calgary, Edmonton, Newmarket, De Soto, we have 27 sales offices across Canada and the US, and over 1750 employees 2024 1966 pause_circle_outline play_arrow
